New flavors bring fun to the family table, and we enjoy helping retailers and restaurateurs introduce their patrons to exciting new taste experiences. Over the years, the industry has looked to us and to the growers we represent for new varieties and products. We also do our best to put our products to work, sharing our proprietary market research with those whose bottom line will benefit.

New variety development
People are always looking for new, better tasting varieties to serve their families. In tandem with our grower-partners, Oppenheimer has helped develop the market for many exciting items over the years. These include: Japanese Aoshima mandarins; Campari tomatoes on the vine; Taylor's Gold pears; Ambrosia, Braeburn, Royal Gala, Pacific Rose™, Southern Rose™, and Jazz™ apples; Ataulfo mangoes; gold and green kiwifruit; and a range of cherries, including Suntana, Santina, Cristalina, Summit, Sontata, New Star, and Lapin. And, just for fun, we brought in North America's first square watermelons and star-shaped lemons.

Market research
Our market and category analysts are always watching for new opportunities and adjusting our product mix to suit the needs of our retail and wholesale customers. As consumer tastes and nutritional needs evolve, we aim to provide the information our customers need to adapt their business to the market.
We also work directly with our growers to obtain the strategic intelligence about trends in production and in the growing areas themselves. We anticipate key issues, like over and under supply, and help our customers prepare. Our in-house trade and consumer research personnel can also help growers or retailers delve into areas of interest and provide insightful analysis.
