Our butter lettuce is a specialty variety of leaf lettuce. Whole heads are harvested live with the root intact, or in cut style with the root removed. Medium to large heads resemble bouquets of rounded, leafy greens.
Greenhouse-grown by Fable Farms Ltd., Pitt Meadows, B.C., living butter lettuce with the root intact can be stored in water at room temperature for 7-14 days.
Living butter lettuce is available in clamshells, 1 head each, 12 clams per 10-lb master carton, and in cello bags, 1 head each, 24 per 16-lb master carton.
Cut butter lettuce is available in cello bags, 24 per 14-lb master carton, and in a cello box liner pack for foodservice, 24 heads per 13-lb master carton. |
