Oppenheimer Promotes Quinn to Berry Director

Nolan QuinnVancouver, BC - The Oppenheimer Group has appointed Nolan Quinn to lead its emerging berry category.

Quinn, whose career at Oppenheimer spans a decade and a half, has been named to the new role of berry category director. He now oversees all aspects of the company’s berry business, from global sourcing to exporting to marketing. Oppenheimer’s category consists of berries grown in the U.S., Canada, Chile, Argentina and Mexico, including Ocean Spray Fresh cranberries and blueberries.

“Nolan has played an instrumental role in strategically developing our berry business over the last several years,” said Josh Leichter, Oppenheimer’s vice president of sales, East Coast. “Berries are an exciting category with significant potential for Oppenheimer and for our growers and customers. Nolan’s expertise will enable us to dedicate even greater efforts to this key area.”

Quinn was promoted from the role of berry category manager to his new position in mid-June. It is the latest in a series of roles he had held since joining Oppenheimer as a marketing assistant in 1995. Quinn’s experience includes quality control, brand management and sales. His direct responsibility for Oppenheimer’s berry marketing initiatives began when he became the company’s point person for the fast-paced Ocean Spray cranberry deal in 2005. Oppenheimer is the exclusive marketer of Ocean Spray fresh cranberries worldwide, and blueberries in North America.

Quinn’s primary areas of focus will be on building Ocean Spray cranberry distribution not only in North America but via increased European exports, and developing year-round availability for Ocean Spray blueberries. Oppenheimer recently began marketing blackberries from Mexico, a product that Quinn believes has considerable growth opportunity as well.
