Vancouver, BC - The Oppenheimer Group announces the addition of sales representative Peter Cole to its Tampa, Fla. office. Cole replaced the recently-retired Ken McGinnis, who had sold Oppenheimer products throughout the Southeastern U.S. since 1999, and whose industry career spanned more than 20 years.
Cole joined Oppenheimer on May 19, bringing wide-ranging expertise - including procurement, operations, logistics, merchandising and sales - gained over eight years of industry experience.
Cole recently returned to his home state of Florida to work in an inventory and port operations capacity for Fresh Quest, Inc. in Plantation. He had spent 2009 overseeing sourcing, merchandising and pricing for retail outlets managed by Coast Produce, Los Angeles. Between 2002 and 2008, Cole held numerous roles at Rosemont Farms Corp., Boca Raton, Fla., most recently serving as an account manager for vegetable, melon, and berry sales in South Georgia and Central Florida. Previously, Cole worked as a repack manager and in quality control.
At Oppenheimer, Cole will market a full range of products to retail, wholesale, and food service customers in the Southeast. His early focus will be on imported kiwifruit, apples and pears, as well as Oregon cherries.
Cole said he was drawn to the opportunity to work for the full service marketer because, “Oppenheimer’s excellent reputation for quality is well known in the industry, and I am looking forward to helping bring its full product line to market.”
