VANCOUVER, B.C. — The Oppenheimer Group is pleased to announce Virginia Miller has joined the company’s Houston, Texas office as a business development representative serving retail, wholesale and foodservice clients in the U.S. Midwest.
Miller, who joined the full-service produce marketer in early April, is responsible for implementing effective promotions for Oppenheimer products in partnership with customers in North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Tennessee.
With a strong background and proven results in business-to-business sales, as well as grocery management experience, Miller most recently was the marketing and sales director for a Servpro Industries, Inc., franchise located in Austin.
Previously, Miller gained relevant produce experience with the San Antonio-based H.E. Butt Grocery Company from 2003-2007. She participated in its School of Retail Leadership program, rotating through management assignments in H-E-B’s store-level fresh, non-perishable, and customer service departments. In this capacity, she also served as a store manager in several stores within the greater Austin area.
Miller said she was drawn to Oppenheimer for several reasons, specifically the parallels it shares with H-E-B.
“Both are long-enduring companies which started with family,” she said. “Oppenheimer is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, and H-E-B is over a century old as well. Both are privately held, very successful organizations that thrive in a competitive marketplace due to the strength of their culture, focus on relationships and strategic business approach. I’m excited to be working with produce again.”
Miller holds a B.A. in English and technical communication from Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
