Steve Woodyear-Smith brings nearly two decades of produce marketing experience to his role of Director of the Kiwifruit and Mango Categories. Steve oversees all aspects of our business concerning these products, from year-round sourcing to logistics and marketing.

Steve came to Oppenheimer in 2000, following 10 years in various management roles with kiwifruit marketer ZESPRI International Ltd. While with ZESPRI, Steve developed the Asian market and oversaw New Zealand kiwifruit marketing activities in that key region. Residing in Hong Kong and Taiwan, Steve focused strategic marketing efforts on East Asia throughout the late 1990s. While there, he was instrumental in the introduction of ZESPRI™ GOLD Kiwifruit, as he was later on in North America.

In 2002, Steve added the mango category to his role at The Oppenheimer Group. During Steve's tenure, our company has solidified its position as a mango supplier.

Steve is a New Zealander who holds a bachelor's of commerce degree in marketing and international business from Auckland University. He is an accomplished yachtsman and triathlete who has competed at regional and national levels in various sports.
