With expertise gained during more than two decades in the produce industry, J. David Smith brings considerable experience to his sales leadership role at The Oppenheimer Group.

Based in Los Angeles, CA, David oversees the alignment of our category approach with our overall sales and marketing strategies. His analysis and guidance help assure that our growers’ programs are as consistent as possible with the demands of the North American marketplace.

After a brief, post-college stint working for a senator in Washington, D.C., David came to The Oppenheimer Group in 1989. He has held various sales positions during his tenure, helping build our business in the Southwestern U.S. David has also been pivotal in developing our greenhouse vegetable category, solidifying our position as an industry leader in greenhouse marketing throughout the 2000s. He became senior vice president of sales in January 2011.
