As marketers of a product that is essentially good for our bodies and enhances life overall, we've discovered numerous opportunities to think outside of work, employing our energies in support of communities and the lives of others.

We are active supporters of the ‘Fruits & Veggies More Matters’ and 5 to 10 A Day for better health campaigns in the U.S. and Canada, encouraging better health and nutrition through increased consumption of fruits and vegetables.

During our company’s 150th anniversary year in 2008, we made a significant pledge of $150,000 and became a platinum-level supporter of the Produce Marketing Association’s Foundation for Industry Talent (PMA FIT). This funding supports programs designed to attract, develop and retain talent for the produce industry. For more about the program, visit www.pmaef.com.

The Oppenheimer Group and its employees support many charities in the communities where they work.

Since 2002, we have hosted a United Way campaign in our Vancouver headquarters. This weeklong fundraiser has grown significantly year-on-year.

We also participate in various charity races including the Vancouver Sun Run, BC Children’s hospital – Child Run, Run for the Cure, American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure, and the Delaware Marathon. These events encourage community involvement and active lifestyles.

We also make regular contributions to local food banks in an effort to ease the issue of hunger in the communities where we operate.
